Mexican Taco Recipe

Introduction: Tacos are one of the most famous Mexican dishes, and are characterized by their combination of diverse flavors and flexibility in preparation. You can use different ingredients according to your taste, making them an excellent choice for families and friends. Tacos are usually served as a quick meal, and rely on a tortilla as the main base, which can be made of corn or wheat.

Ingredients:

For the filling:

500 grams of minced meat: You can use beef or chicken according to your preference.

1 small chopped onion: Adds a sweet and delicious flavor.

1 chopped hot pepper (optional): For those who like spicy flavor.

2 tablespoons of taco spices: You can buy them ready-made or prepare your own mixture of cumin, sweet pepper, and dried garlic.

1/2 cup of water: To help the meat cook.

Salt and pepper to taste.

To serve:

8 Tortillas (tortilla): You can choose corn or wheat tortillas according to your preference.

Vegetables such as lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, and shredded cheese: to add texture and flavor.

Hot sauce or sour cream: to give your tacos a special touch.

How to prepare:

Prepare the filling:

In a skillet over medium heat, heat a little oil until hot. Add the chopped onion and chili pepper, and stir for 3-4 minutes until the onion is wilted.

Add the ground beef to the skillet, and cook, stirring constantly, until browned and cooked through. It is best to shred the meat with a wooden spoon to break it up.

After the meat is cooked, add the taco seasoning, then add the water. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes until combined.

Heat the tortillas:

In a dry skillet over medium heat, place the tortillas one by one. Heat each tortilla for about 30 seconds on each side, until warm and pliable. You can wrap them in foil after heating to keep them warm.

Serve the tacos:

Place a dollop of the filling in the center of each tortilla.

Garnish your tacos with veggies like chopped lettuce, diced tomatoes, and avocado. You can add shredded cheese if you like.

Serve hot sauce or sour cream alongside your tacos, so everyone can add their own flavor.

Tip: You can also add extra ingredients like sweet corn or black beans for extra flavor. Try serving your tacos with a Mexican drink like a margarita or a limonada to make the experience even more authentic!
